Rebecca Frazier-Smith, mezzo-soprano

Mezzo-soprano Rebecca Frazier-Smith attended the University of Texas School of Music where she studied vocal performance with William Rhodes, Rose Taylor, Martha Deatherage, and Willa Mae Stewart-Setseck. A founding member of Conspirare, Rebecca performed on the Grammy-nominated recording Threshold of Night, as well as numerous other recordings with the highly acclaimed vocal ensemble. Rebecca has been a featured soloist with the Victoria Bach Festival, Texas Early Music Project, and Panoramic Voices, among many other choral organizations and festivals, and recently had her UK premiere with the St. Magnus International Festival in Scotland.

A longstanding love of Cole Porter and the Big Band era led Rebecca to a performance and recording effort in recent years, during which she had the honor to collaborate with some of Austin’s finest jazz musicians. She currently fronts a jazz ensemble, The 45s, an Ella Fitzgerald tribute group gaining local notoriety. Well-versed in many a creative medium, she is also a Texas Master Florist with a specialty focus in event design and ikebana, and owns her own studio, Bella Fiori.
