Maryanna Bryant-Ducharme, baroque oboe
Oboist Maryanna Bryant-Ducharme is enjoying a number of performance opportunities in Texas and beyond, with The Baytown (Texas) Symphony Orchestra, The Houston Bach Society, Texas Camerata (Ft. Worth), The Pittsburgh Baroque Ensemble and the Denton Bach Society. A Young Artist at the Boston Early Music Festival, Ms. Bryant has performed under the direction of Dr. Lyle Nordstrom in 2007 and 2009, and under Paul Leenhouts in 2011. In 2008 she played under the direction of Graeme Jenkins in a concert of Handel’s Saul.
Ms. Bryant studies baroque and modern oboe with Kathryn Montoya at the University of North Texas. Other teachers include Dr. Sara Funkhouser and Gonzalo Ruiz on baroque oboe and Dr. Julie Jacobs and Dr. Charles Veazey on modern oboe. Frequently selected for master classes, she has worked with Geoffrey Burgess, Aaron Hill, Eric Barr and Joseph Robinson. Maryanna resides in Lewisville, Texas with her husband Taylor Ducharme-Jones and their three dogs Jack, Zoey and Nigel.
